Sweet Pickles

Ingredients

  • 1 quart Kosher dill pickles
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • cup sugar
  • Bit of alum

Instructions

  • Cut off ends of pickles and cut them into ½-inch chunks.
  • Put in glass bowl or dish (do not use metal or stainless steel).
  • Add other ingredients; let stand 24 hours.
  • Second day, stir carefully.
  • Third day, stir carefully. Put in jar and refrigerate.
