Million Dollar Pickles

Ingredients

  • 6 qts sliced cucumbers
  • 6 large onions
  • ½ cup salt
  • 2 red or green peppers
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 1 quart vinegar
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 2 tsp mustard seed
  • 1 tsp celery seed

Instructions

  • Slice the cucumbers and onions; add salt and let stand overnight.
  • In the morning, drain off the liquid and put in a large kettle.
  • Add remaining ingredients and boil until tender.
  • Seal in hot jars.
