Ingredients

lard

milk

beaten egg yolks

soak in ¼ cup water with 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
Mix together flour and lard as for pie crust.
Scald milk.
Cool milk; add sugar, salt, egg yolks and yeast. Pour over flour mixture and mix well.
Chill overnight.
Divide dough into 4 parts. Roll each part very thin.
Beat 3 egg whites and divide 4 ways.
Spread each part of rolled dough with Crisco, beaten egg white, brown sugar and ground walnuts.
Fold 1 side over a third; then the other side over on top so there are 3 layers.
Pinch ends securely. Let rise for 2 hours and bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
Spread with powdered sugar frosting.
