Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 4 tbsp melted lard
  • 14-15 cups flour
  • 2 pkgs dry yeast dissolved in ½ cup warm water

Instructions

  • Heat milk and put lard in it to melt.
  • Put in large mixing bowl and add water, so mixture is lukewarm.
  • Add sugar, salt and yeast mixture. Add flour.
  • Place round ball of dough in greased bowl and cover with piece of waxed paper and let rise until double.
  • Punch down and let rise again until almost double.
  • Mold dough into 4 loaves and let rise again.
  • Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
