Sweet Pickles
Ingredients
- 1 quart Kosher dill pickles
- 12 whole cloves
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1¾ cup sugar
- Bit of alum
Instructions
- Cut off ends of pickles and cut them into ½-inch chunks.
- Put in glass bowl or dish (do not use metal or stainless steel).
- Add other ingredients; let stand 24 hours.
- Second day, stir carefully.
- Third day, stir carefully. Put in jar and refrigerate.
