Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs yeast
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 cup milk scald
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 8 cups flour

Instructions

  • Soak yeast in warm water.
  • Scald milk and then add shortening, sugar and salt.
  • Stir until shortening is melted.
  • Then add cold water and eggs.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Add flour and mix.
  • Let set ten minutes, then knead for 5 minutes.
  • Let raise and set into buns.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes. (May take longer)
